Flagstaff is a fantastic place to spend New Year's Eve! Every year the Pine Cone Drop at the Weatherford Hotel brings together Flagstaff locals and visitors into the new year with fireworks, cheering, dancing in the street and yes, a bit of shivering in the cold.
There is a 10pm and 12am Pine Cone Drop every year. 10pm? That's right! Don't feel bad about not making it until midnight here in Flagstaff. The 10pm celebration isn't just for kids and older folk. Many people like to get up early on New Year's Day and start the year off with an adventure! Whether that entails going to Arizona Snowbowl, going on a backcountry ski trip, snow-shoeing, visiting the Grand Canyon, or luxuriating in Sedona, the 10pm Pine Cone Drop has become nearly as well-attended as the midnight celebration.
Although the Pine Cone Drop is the most known thing to do in Flagstaff on New Year's Eve, there are several bars and venues that host free dance parties. That's one of the great things about New Year's Eve in Flagstaff, very rarely do you have to pay a cover charge or admission fee to our parties. Live DJs, masquerade balls, local brewery fun...it's all here. Dress as fancy or casual as you wish. Anything goes and all are welcome if you're 21 and over!
Here are a few events we know of going on in town for New Year's Eve bringing in 2023.
