Dark Sky Aerial

Dark Sky Aerial has created a Vilola Award-winning show called Tilt, and there could not be a more fitting artistic experience for the Flagstaff community than this unique, imaginative, brave, thrilling and beautiful performance. The audience observes and moves along with the story by weaving through the city as performers dance while hanging off the side of building walls, in hotel rooms of the Hotel Monte Vista and on rooftops overlooking downtown Flagstaff.

Not only is Tilt different, it is so very Flagstaff. As a city comprised of talented outdoor enthusiasts, it is no surprise that many of the performers are local rock climbers, runners, cyclists other types of outdoor athletes. Tilt translates movement from Flagstaff’s affinity for the outdoors into an uncompromised artistic expression that is both honest and progressive.

Flagstaff has always been a wonderful city for those who love outdoor culture, but there is a gap in the availability and support for larger scale performance art such as Tilt. Tilt is not an annual performance. Dark Sky Aerial relies on community support to make these type of shows possible. Like much of the Arts, ticket sales alone do not make up for the cost of the production.

This Giving Tuesday, consider making a contribution of any amount to Dark Sky Aerial. Flagstaff as a community and location already has so much to offer to its residents. But supporting Dark Sky Aerial and other art and culture organizations is key to a well-rounded city with more opportunities to participate, connect, express and give back. No contribution is too small…all contributions are appreciated.
