Mountain Sports - Celebrates Local. Life. Style.

Mountain Sports Flagstaff embraces and celebrates a local lifestyle. We are rooted in the outdoors, steeped in a northern Arizona mountain community that’s nestled at the base of the San Francisco Peaks. From here, it’s only a short drive to Grand Canyon plus other exceptional canyon country wonders.

“We sell the outdoor clothing that will keep you warm and dry when you go on that distant adventure in the backcountry,” said Mountain Sports’ Lisa Lamberson. “But, the reality is it's most often going to be used for the local lifestyle.  It's the fleece to keep you cozy on an evening dog stroll, the dress you wear to Hula Hoop at the summer Hullabaloo. It's the down sweater for walking the dog or being there early to the Flagstaff Farmers Market, or the button down shirt that you consider dress up clothing for your friends mountain wedding.  It’s a local attitude. We sell the clothing for every day here in Flagstaff.”

“The lifestyle of the Flagstaff community is rooted in the outdoors,” said Mark Lamberson of Mountain Sports. “We participate in and celebrate that lifestyle – we hope to do it for generations to come.”

In its 40th year in business and in downtown Flagstaff since 1980, Mountain Sports Flagstaff generously supports local conservation efforts through 1% for the Planet and Advocate Weeks. To date, Mountain Sports Flagstaff has contributed $100,000 to environmental conservation organizations. “This is something we have been doing for a long time,” said Lisa Lamberson. “Now we’re telling the story.”

The 8th annual Mountain Sports Flagstaff Advocate Week is May 2 to 18 and supports the work of Terra BIRDS, an organization educating and empowering youth through gardening. During that time, Mountain Sports Flagstaff will donate $20 to Terra BIRDS for every pair of Patagonia shoes purchased.

“This is part of our passion for this community,” said Mark Lamberson. “The outdoors, trail running, mountain biking, hiking, a great downtown – and environmental conservation – all the reasons we live here – the things we live for.”
